Submission

Subject: The administration, Pollution control board and departments concerned not to ignore the legal provision to keep Ludhiana worth living, pollution free, clean and green.

Despite the information that the residents of areas near Sangeet Cinema etc have been left high and dry is very painful but at the same time there seems something positive in the plan that there shall be no further expansion of these industrial units.

It was also decided that Ludhiana being an industrial city, the present trend of co- existence of commercial and industrial activity, along with residential use, cannot be disturbed immediately but should be regulated through a legal provision for setting up shopping centres, hotels, hospitals, and other activities so that people, who are running polluting and hazardous waste generating industry, are encouraged to use their land for commercial use if they choose to shift the industry away from the city.

The residents hope and submit that the administration, Pollution control board and departments concerned would not ignore the legal provision to keep Ludhiana worth, living, residential, pollution free, clean and green.
